So, the Weedeater with the Briggs and Stratton that I've had for three years or so is dead. It's a push mower with a bulb primer. I tried to start
it the other day, after the remnant of hurricane came through. As best as I can figure, water got into the fuel.
It would sputter, stutter, spit out black smoke and then die. It's always been a good mower up until now. From what I read, it sounded like water in the fule to me. I took the fuel system apart, cleaned it with carb cleaner, dumped the old gas, got fresh gas in a clean can, then put it all back together. It started with thr first pull. It was pitch black out when I got done with it, so I just shut down for the night. That was two days ago. Now, it won't start at all. No sputtering, no smoke, nada.
One thing is, that when I put i back together and starteed it up, I had taken off the spark plug wire and forgotten to put it back on. It still ran. Now, yesterday, when I was trying to figure out why it wouldn't start, only then did I notice the wire was loose. It ran the ohter night in spite of the missing spark plug wire, but today nothing.
Today I took the carb off of it again and tiled it to the side. I was wondering if I had flooded it when trying to start if. Nothing comes out of the hole for the carb.
Any ideas?
