My kids like to play with rocks and leave them in the yard for me to find with the mower. Last time I was mowing I hit some. It didn't stop the mower.
But since then about 10 seconds or so after starting it, it starts to surge.
There is no excessive vibration so I'm thinking that might rule out a bent shaft. When I turn the flywheel manually, the blades turn without any "play". So I'm guessing that flywheel key wasn't sheared. However I haven't checked it as I lack a flywheel puller. It ran perfectly fine before I hit the rocks so I doubt there is anything wrong with the carb. Took the head off and everything looked fine there.
I don't know what to look for next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a WeedEater brand mower with a 500 series B&S engine.
